“ Omg this place is fantastic, date night for anyone with taste. 12 tables, reservation only, service is spectacular. All Art Nouveau lamps n decor. 12/10 and don't get me started on the food as well as the fun pianos playing by themselves early 20th century jams. ”
“ Really a unique and special place. You don't see many places like this that cherish the old and welcome the new. With new and tasty twists in old favorites along with options for every dietary need. The wait staff are very helpful and the atmosphere is something not to be missed. ”
“ The most quaint and charming restaurant! Delicious food, entertaining pianos, and attentive service. It feels like you’re transported back to better times. Generous portions at a reasonable price point. There are several vegan options including a great eggplant Parmesan available with advance request. The butternut Marsala pasta had a flavorful cream sauce and plenty of veggies like squash, mushrooms, zucchini. The profiteroles are crisp and light, drizzled with chocolate sauce and filled with fresh whipped cream. The self-playing pianos play delightful tunes throughout the evening. It’s like getting dinner and a show. The favorite part of the evening was definitely the drinks! The soda fountain options are creative and tasty. The apricot ambrosia is particularly good, with nice almond flavor that balances the tartness of the apricot. The best drink of the evening was the East Frisia tea service. A hot pot of Assam black tea atop a tea candle to keep it warm arrived on a silver tray with rock sugar. You place cube in the cup and then as the tea is poured over, the cube crackles like an ice cube. Assam tea is reminiscent of English breakfast. ”
“ Very unique restaurant and ambience... self playing instruments, old time charm and organically sourced food makes the visit worth it. The Shrimp Puttanesca and Chicken Breast Saltimbocca were excellent...loaded with veggies and proteins! Apricot Ambrosia from the ancient fountain was unique.will definitely visit again... Reservation is recommended Love the fact that tip is included... ”
“ This establishment has been around for 12 years. Started by a couple of ex techies with a collection of vintage player pianos they hooked up with a chef. You’ll find casual Italian/Euro/American fare in a fun dining room devoted with vintage player pianos and jukeboxes that play throughout the evening. We sampled gnocchi, scampi, shrimp puttanesca, French onion soup and key lime pie. All were prepared well and served quickly. Their wine list isn’t extensive but had some nice choices. Their house petit Syrah was balanced, not fruit forward and an easy drinker. You place your order at the counter after being seated to peruse the menu. They even have a soda fountain wear they make traditional and non-traditional drinks. The vibe is fun and comfortable. Reservations are recommended as they’re only open on Fridays and Saturdays. It’s a very unique San Jose restaurant well worth a visit. Also, tip is included on your bill. ”
“ My heart was very warm having dinner here. My stomach was very happy as well. To start, for a part time hobby of the owners, this restaurant that is only open on Friday and Saturday, did not come off as exclusive but welcoming. We were traveling in the Bay Area with our dog and wanted to find a restaurant with a patio that our dog could come to instead of leaving her in the hotel. And Orchestria asked what breed(corgi) and asked that we have her behave and welcomed us. As for the dining experience, I felt like I was in a Time Machine and travelled back a century ago with self playing pianos taking turns serenading the dining room. Ordering food is a pleasant experience where you walk up to the bar and place your food orders and get your drinks. The servers and possibly owner? Were very warm and attentive. The food was home styled Italian cooking with good portions. We did not have dessert but enjoyed our appetizers and main dishes. All in all, you don’t come across restaurants with this much culture and personality often, if ever. Go to Orchestria Palm Court if you’re in San Jose, remember, on a Friday or Saturday. ”
“ Essentially a museum of working player pianos and other self-playing instruments--xylophone, violin, giant music boxes and more--with an interesting restaurant. The food was quite good, we had the Austrian goulash, pear salad, profiteroles and made to order sodas--the Poppy Dew and the Cherry Sour Phosphate. I recommend everything, especially the profiteroles and the sodas. The goulash was served on great crunchy spaetzle and had a rich flavor. Seating is limited and you need to make reservations a few days ahead. The tables were close together without a lot of room to walk around between, but the atmosphere was great. Different player pianos/etc. play automatically from time to time, several are fascinating to watch. The staff is excellent. No tipping; a 14.5% service fee is automatically added. The prices were fine for the food quality. The night we were there the clientele were mostly older than 35. Definitely a unique and fun dining experience. ”
“ I brought my kids to this remarkable restaurant for their birthdays. It was a very unique experience and we had a lot of fun. The place is decorated in a very vintage fashion, complete with an old fountain bar serving phosphate drinks as well as other cocktails and milkshakes. They have a unique menu and they seem to be very conscious of having quality healthy ingredients. They told me that this is one of the very few locations in the United States where you could still get phosphate drinks. The entire seating area is surrounded by a variety of animatronic automated pianos that use a form of sheet rolls to play a variety of tunes. It was very fascinating to enjoy our meal and watch and listen to these machines play around us. I believe the two partners that founded this place work behind the two different bar areas, they have quite the story of how they founded the restaurant based on their personal passion for collecting these machines. And then the collection only grew and the result is this fascinating restaurant. If you're looking for a fun and unique experience in a vintage setting, then this place is for you. ”
